London is the centre of international maritime litigation through the High Court or Arbitration or Mediation. About 90% of shipping disputes are resolved through maritime arbitration of which about 80% are in London. Worldwide trade and shipping expansion and technological innovation have led to changes in maritime disputes. International organizations and regional arbitrations, including Piraeus, aim towards streamlining matters. Ways and means of maintaining the system of dispute resolution effective, efficient and expedient will be considered hereby and with special attention to its commercial and technical aspects and dimensions.
